MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma. — The Arkansas River has been a familiar and fantastic destination for B.A.S.S., but Chris Jones, a former qualifier for the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Jockey Outdoors, believes the river is destined to shine even brighter during the 2024 Mercury B.A.S.S. Nation Qualifier at Arkansas River presented by Lowrance, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. This year’s qualifier is sponsored by Port Muskogee and Visit Muskogee.
“The Muskogee Tourism Authority (MTA) competed to host this regional tournament through a competitive bidding process, and we are honored to be selected as the host for this Regional tournament,” said Muskogee Tourism Authority Director of Tourism Tammye Howell. “We expect this tournament to attract thousands of tourists to the Muskogee community to eat, shop, stay, and play.”
“We are more than thrilled to have Bassmaster Nation Series return to Muskogee. Three Rivers, Arkansas river in particular, continues to be the perfect location for the qualifier series in Muskogee, Oklahoma,” said Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman. “We believe this gives Muskogee the opportunity to be considered to host the national and international tournaments as well.”
Port Muskogee Director Kimbra Scott proclaims “The Arkansas River is an angler’s paradise, and hundreds of anglers, thousands of visitors will be thrilled by all we have to offer in Muskogee.”
Tournament days are scheduled for April 3-5.Competitors will take off from Three Forks Harbor at 7 a.m. Central Time and return for weigh-in each day at 3 p.m. This is the second qualifying event in the new Nation format, and the Top 20 anglers will punch their tickets to the 2024 Mercury B.A.S.S. Nation Championship presented by Lowrance, which is scheduled for Grand Lake in Grove, Oklahoma, Nov. 6-8.
